Jamestown Arts Center’s Artists’ Open Studios returns this weekend, offering visitors a free, self-guided tour of more than 30 artist studios and galleries across Conanicut Island on Saturday, August 8 and Sunday, August 9, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Expanded to two days this year, the event invites visitors to follow ART HERE signs across the island and step inside working studios to see artists’ latest work, works in progress, and the spaces where their creative practices take shape. “Visiting an artist’s studio offers a perspective that simply cannot be replicated in a traditional gallery setting,” said Christine Cocca, Executive Director of Jamestown Arts Center. “Each studio reflects the distinct personality, working methods, and creative imagination of the artist.” Printed tour maps will be available for pickup at Jamestown Arts Center, 18 Valley Street, beginning Thursday, August 6.
