The 2011 role James Marsden hated playing: “I can’t stand these kind of movies”With interest in their output declining, Marvel decided to pull out all the stops for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday.
While he hasn’t reached the same heights as his adamantium-infused rival, Marsden has done incredibly well for himself, playing a starring role in the phenomenally successful Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, appearing as the titular blue mammal’s surrogate human father.
Released in 2011, the film centres on the titular son of the Easter Bunny, voiced by a pre-cancellation Russell Brand, and his dreams of becoming a rock ‘n’ roll drummer, which finds Marsden playing Fred O’Hare, a deadbeat who befriends Hop and helps him on his path.
He frankly admitted, “I can’t stand these kind of movies where you see the characters and it doesn’t look like they’re interacting.
I think there’s a disconnect when you’re working without an animated character who will eventually be there.”
