The focus was primarily on events outside the Sydney Opera House on 9 October 2023 and NSW Parliament House on 8 November 2025. The Opera House demonstration was organised by Palestine Action Group two days after the Hamas-led attack on southern Israel. Protesters marched from Town Hall while the Opera House sails were illuminated in blue and white in solidarity with Israel. Jewish organisations accept that governments may be criticised but warn that political advocacy can become antisemitic when Jewish people are collectively blamed, intimidated or excluded because of Israel’s actions. Minns’ criticism reinforces his position that the inquiry must remain centred on the experiences and safety of Jewish Australians.
