USA/UK: UN Expert Welcomes Extradition Proceedings Against Tate Brothers, Calls For AccountabilityGENEVA (5 August 2026) – United Nations Special Rapporteur on violence against women and girls, its causes and consequences, Reem Alsalem, today welcomed ongoing proceedings in the United States to extradite Andrew Tate and Tristan Tate to the United Kingdom, describing the proceedings as an important step towards ensuring the brothers face accountability for serious allegations of violence against women and girls. “Given in particular the scale of the alleged offences, and the Tate brothers’ global influence in promoting misogyny and harmful models of masculinity, it is urgent and imperative that they face justice." The Special Rapporteur noted that Andrew and Tristan Tate, dual British and United States nationals and former professional kickboxers turned online influencers, were arrested in Miami, in the United States, on 18 July 2026 following a United Kingdom extradition request. "All too often, perpetrators of violence against women exploit delays, fragmented jurisdictional responses and their wealth, power or influential public profile to evade accountability.
