DULUTH — The Minnesota Department of Transportation reminded the public Wednesday that campaign and advertisement signs are prohibited from being placed on any highway right-of-way. ADVERTISEMENT"State law requires MnDOT workers to take down political or advertising signs located on the state highway right-of-way," MnDOT said in a news release. Margie Nelson, public affairs coordinator for MnDOT District 1, which covers northeastern Minnesota, added that "regional truck stations will remove signs from the right of way as they see them. All signs placed on private land must be done so with the consent of the landowner. Information about signs on state right-of-way can be found on MnDOT's website.
