However, in a small victory for those who had raised concerns, a third member of the clergy team has been added.
Under the original draft scheme, a single team rector and one team vicar would have served the new benefice.
But after reviewing representations made during the consultation, the committee recommended increasing the clergy team by adding an additional team vicar.
The scheme for Kerrier Deanery will bring together benefices including Constantine, Helston and Wendron, The Lizard, Mullion, and Cury with Gunwalloe into one large benefice under a new team ministry model, covering churches in 16 parishes.
The decision was announced today (Wednesday, August 6) following a public meeting held by the Church Commissioners’ Mission, Pastoral and Church Property Committee (MPCPC).
