EAST GRAND FORKS — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers had positive opinions of the city of East Grand Forks’ levee systems during a recent inspection.
City Administrator Reid Huttunen and Public Works Director Jason Stordahl mentioned the Army Corps of Engineers’ visit during Tuesday evening’s City Council meeting.
East Grand Forks falls into the Red River of the North Basin federal levee system through the Army Corps of Engineers.
A draft report from the Army Corps of Engineers will be out in about 90 days, followed by the final reporter.
The council approved hiring Erickson in July, after the position had been vacant since April when former superintendent Jeremy King resigned.
