One Person Dies in Lancaster House Fire After Smoke Reported Coming From...A Lancaster house fire Tuesday morning claimed the life of one person after firefighters were called to a South Eastwood Avenue home following reports of smoke coming from the residence. LANCASTER, Ohio — One person was found dead following a house fire Tuesday morning in Lancaster, according to the Lancaster Fire Department. Fire crews were dispatched around 9:45 a.m. to the 200 block of South Eastwood Avenue after a passerby reported seeing smoke coming from a nearby residence. Lancaster Fire Chief Slade Schultz said firefighters located a male victim inside the home and removed him from the residence. Chief Schultz said one cat died in the fire, while three other cats were rescued from the home.
