The works will close Almería Airport in Spain, where easyJet operates direct flights to and from Southend, for nearly a week.
Almería serves as a gateway to popular southern Spanish destinations including Roquetas de Mar, Mojácar, and the Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park.
Flights during the closure period will be cancelled and airlines including easyJet have been notified of the disruption.
Almeria flights from Southend Airport are typically run on a seasonal basis, through the spring and summer months and pausing for the winter season.
British travellers account for between 55 and 70 per cent of the airport's traffic, and the airport serves up to 800,000 passengers annually.
