‎Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has approved the appointment of Dr Mohammed Goje as the substantive Secretary to the State Government (SSG). ‎‎Dr Goje had been serving in an acting capacity since his appointment on April 29, 2026. ‎‎In a statement signed by the Director-General, Press and Media Affairs to the Governor, Mamman Mohammed, Governor Buni said the confirmation followed Dr Goje’s demonstrated capacity and commitment in office. ‎‎Before his appointment as Acting SSG, Dr Goje served as the Executive Secretary of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA). ‎‎Governor Buni charged the new substantive SSG to justify the confidence reposed in him by adding value to good governance and improving service delivery across the state.
