Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday met President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency, Dr Akihiko Tanaka, who called on her along with a delegation. The chief minister warmly welcomed the JICA delegation on its arrival in Lahore. Both sides explored opportunities for collaboration in priority public sectors, including education, healthcare, women’s empowerment and human resource development. Speaking on the occasion, Maryam Nawaz said the Punjab government highly valued JICA’s cooperation in the province’s development. JICA President Dr Akihiko Tanaka reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Punjab in the fields of education, healthcare, women’s empowerment and human resource development.
