A planning application for the old Cambuslang Karting site at 91 Glasgow Road was submitted to South Lanarkshire Council (SLC) in May this year. Applicant The Storage Zone proposed creating a facility with 47 storage units on the land, an access road with perimeter security fencing and low-level external lighting. The site was home to Cambuslang Karting, an outdoor go-karting venue, for more than a decade before it closed in 2018. Now, planning chiefs at the local authority have refused the proposals. In its decision letter, SLC notes that the plans were rejected for a variety of reasons.
