Toyota celebrates opening of newest $100 million Columbus plant

State, local and national dignitaries along with company officials led the official grand opening and ribbon cutting for Toyota Material Handling North America’s newest plant in southern Columbus Wednesday.
The 295,000 square foot facility was a more than $100 million investment by Toyota and brings more than 140 jobs to the area.
Toyota has more than 2,100 workers in Columbus and produced its first forklift here in 1989.
Mayor Ferdon presented a proclamation declaring Wednesday as Toyota Material Handling North America Day in the city.
