Hyperallergic
The heartbreaking messages, seized by ICE from young children in the Dilley Immigration Processing Center, were acquired by podcaster Allison Gill.
A nine-year-old child in detention at the Dilley Immigration Processing Center asked for legal aid and to help them "get out of this jail."
(all images courtesy Allison Gill)One letter spells out “AYUDA POR FAVOR” (“HELP PLEASE” in Spanish).
These messages and other similar ones sprawl across the 91 pages that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) seized in February from children detained at the Dilley Immigration Processing Center in South Texas.
"Please, a federal judge see this letter and help us," the child writes above their stick-figure drawing.
