Article contentThis year, Mike Jr., who in in his 50s, made sure to bring his father, who has been diagnosed with dementia, down to the lake. “When he’s alone, he gets bored in the house,” Mike Jr. says. “If he’s around the house he can’t move around. So I figured I’d bring him down here. And 10 a.m. is the optimal time for him, before the crowds have hit.”
