Minecraft is finally launching on the Nintendo Switch 2 this fall, giving Mojang's blockbuster sandbox game a native version built to take advantage of Nintendo's new hardware and bringing a massive graphics overhaul to the console. Mojang said the native version is optimized specifically for Switch 2. Players who already own Minecraft on the original Nintendo Switch won't have to buy the game again. Another Minecraft movie, A Minecraft Movie Squared, is also in the works with a 2027 release date. Minecraft is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on Oct. 27.
