Newport Police announced Tuesday that 18-year-old Nasydi Brown has been identified as the second alleged gunman in the case.
Marshals Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force tracked the pair to a home on Chestnut Avenue in Newport News, Virginia.
Johnson waived extradition during a July 30 hearing and is expected to be returned to Rhode Island by Aug. 18, according to Newport Police.
The Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office is coordinating the extradition process for both suspects.
Brown will remain in Virginia while his local criminal case moves forward before he is returned to Rhode Island to face the Newport charges.
