Acquired by Pheasants Forever, the 279.84-acre site will be sold to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources to manage as the Lessard Anderson Wildlife Management area. Pheasants Forever paid $800,000 for the property and is in the process of selling it to the DNR, Duggan said. The Minnesota Deer Hunters Association, the National Wild Turkey Federation and the Minnesota Forest Industries organization also are contributing to the project, he says. Pheasants Forever will turn the property over to the DNR “in the near future” to manage as a WMA, Duggan said. Pheasants Forever acquired the Carp Swamp property in partnership with the Minnesota Sharp-Tailed Grouse Society.
