BEMIDJI — Regional Native Public Defense will host its second annual "Our Voices Restored" community event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11, at Bemidji State University's Beaux Arts Ballroom. This year’s theme is "Bridging the Gap," bringing together voices, resources and knowledge to strengthen our communities across Northern Minnesota, a release said. Panel discussions will include "Bridging the Gap: Connecting Northern Minnesota and the Twin Cities;" "Community Voices and Policy: Past, Present and Future;" and "Youth Leadership." Local and regional organizations will also be on hand with information, services and opportunities for collaboration. Regional Native Public Defense is a nonprofit law firm that provides legal services to members of federally recognized tribes living in and around Leech Lake and White Earth tribal nations.
