Investing.com -- MercadoLibre Inc (NASDAQ:MELI) reported second quarter earnings that exceeded analyst expectations, but shares slipped 3% in after-hours trading Wednesday as investors weighed margin compression against strong revenue growth.
Revenue reached $10.17 billion, surpassing the $9.66 billion estimate and representing a 50% increase YoY from $6.78 billion in the second quarter of 2025.
Income from operations declined 17% YoY to $683 million, with operating margin compressing 550 basis points to 6.7%.
The company issued 2.6 million new credit cards in the quarter, up from 1.6 million in the prior year period.
