Reviewing the implementation of decisions taken during the previous NCORD meeting, the Chief Secretary assessed the progress made by stakeholder departments. Stressing speedy disposal of NDPS cases, he asked that video conferencing facilities for recording evidence be made operational in all NDPS and Sessions Courts to expedite trials while reducing inconvenience to witnesses. Reviewing prosecution, he directed the Director General Prosecution to comprehensively examine all NDPS cases recommended for closure without appeals to ensure every legally sustainable case is pursued. Action was also initiated against arms licences, contractor licences, government accommodation and security cover extended to identified offenders. It was further informed that 135 detention proposals had been sponsored under the PIT NDPS Act during 2026, leading to execution of 113 preventive detention orders.
