EAU CLAIRE — Starting pitcher Ben Llewellyn gave the Duluth Huskies seven strong innings but the visitors didn’t generate enough offense in a 5-1 Northwoods League defeat to the Eau Claire Express on Wednesday.
The Huskies had only one hit through five innings and were behind 3-0 by the time they got on the board.
That was all Duluth’s scoring for the night, though the Huskies stranded two runners in scoring position in the top of the ninth.
Salazar had an RBI single in the fifth inning for Eau Claire, then hit a solo homer in the seventh, one of three dingers for the Express in Wednesday’s game.
The Huskies (12-20 second half) conclude their final road trip of the season in Eau Claire on Thursday before two home games vs. Thunder Bay to conclude 2026.
