New Subjects Support Skills For The FutureThe introduction of nine new industry-led subjects into the National Curriculum for Years 12-13 will help strengthen pathways from secondary school into vocational careers, says Hospitality New Zealand (Hospitality NZ). Of the subjects announced, Hospitality Food and Beverage and Tourism are of particular relevance to the hospitality and accommodation sector. We are pleased to see that the Government has strengthened pathways into hospitality from secondary school, and that the hospitality industry will have input into the development of these subjects. “We have long advocated for clear and consistent career pathways being demonstrated from secondary school into the sector. “We look forward to working closely with the Services Industry Skills Board on the development of these subjects.”
