Two bays will accommodate livestock trucks up to twin-deck B-doubles. The facility incorporates systems that separate solid waste for disposal, while liquid waste is treated through TasWater’s sewerage network. Federal Member for Braddon Anne Urquhart said the facility was a practical investment in infrastructure supporting Tasmania’s agricultural and freight sectors. Tasmanian Primary Industries and Water Minister Gavin Pearce said the facility would help meet increasing demand for livestock transport services. “This facility will meet the growing demand for livestock transport services and support the sustainability of our red meat industry,” Pearce said.
