Surveillance footage shows Javier Francisco Vigil pointing a handgun at a Umatilla tribal police officer outside Wildhorse Resort & Casino during the August 2022 robbery.
He was later sentenced to 20 years in prison and ordered to serve his term at a federal psychiatric center.
During the robbery, Vigil claimed to be God before opening fire at a responding Umatilla tribal police officer as he fled, injuring a bystander, according to federal prosecutors.
According to investigators, he told police he believed he was God and was therefore entitled to rob the casino.
He deserved and received the full consequences under federal law.”
