Voting Preview for Primary ElectionCHATTANOOGA, TN.- The Hamilton County Election Commission is preparing for Election Day and they are here to tell you how you can be preparing as well. “It’s a little bit different because our August elections in Tennessee are on Thursdays not on Tuesdays but it’s important first of all, the Hamilton County voters know when the polls open. The polls always open here in Hamilton County at 8 AM Eastern and they close at 8 PM Eastern when you vote on election day, you have to vote at your assigned polling place.” “When voters go to the polls they will be asked to choose between three ballot choices: public and primary ballot, democratic primary ballot and the general only ballot. So the general only ballet is really only intended for people who just absolutely do not want to participate in a republican primary or democratic primary.”
