The Avatar franchise hasn't just been another series of movies for him. Now, as Avatar 4 and Avatar 5 remain on the horizon, Cameron sounds like someone who may be ready to let another filmmaker take over directing duties. It sounds like he's already thinking beyond Avatar 4 and Avatar 5 and planning the closing chapter of his filmmaking career. As much as I've enjoyed visiting Pandora, the Avatar franchise has consumed an enormous portion of Cameron's career. Whether that means directing Avatar 4 and Avatar 5 or passing the torch to another filmmaker, it'll be fascinating to see what he decides.
