Calls for a distinct 'Welsh way' of governance and devolved powers

The plan supports increased decision-making at regional levels, including transport, land use, and economic development - areas already under the remit of Wales’ four economic regions.
Mary Ann Brocklesby, leader of Monmouthshire County Council and chair of the Cardiff Capital Region, said: "We welcome the announcement from UK Government and look forward to the discussions for enhanced devolution.
"We are committed to developing a Welsh way, acknowledging the constitutional and growth imperatives for the nation.
The CCR has said it is ready to take part in a 'Welsh way' forward, pointing to a decade of regional collaboration and calling for "credible proposals" that would strengthen South East Wales economically and socially.
Dimitri Batrouni, co-vice chair of the Cardiff Capital Region and leader of Newport City Council, said: "We need a level playing field and that means parity of powers and levers across UK regions.
