Taking place on Saturday, August 8, the guided walk will lead participants past Ruperra Castle on public rights of way and will highlight a public right of way that is now the subject of a proposed diversion.
Organised by the Ruperra Castle Preservation Trust, the walk starts at Ruperra Home Farm and will give attendees an opportunity to view both the current route and the proposed alternative.
Charlotte Rogers, chair of the Ruperra Castle Preservation Trust, said: "The Ruperra Castle Preservation Trust believes there is no need to divert the right of way based on a temporary safety issue, especially as planning permission has been granted to turn the outbuildings next to the castle into private flats, and the safety issue would need to be mitigated in advance of that happening."
The official order proposes moving the right of way approximately 65 metres away from the castle.
Maggie Thomas, an Open Spaces Society correspondent, said: "The diverted route is substantially less convenient than the current route on hard ground.
