The Plateau State Police Command has recorded another major breakthrough in its investigation into the alleged mob killing of Ibrahim Mbaya, with the arrest of a 24-year-old suspect accused of playing a key role in the brutal assault that led to the victim’s death. The development was announced in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Alfred Alabo, on August 5, 2026. The Command disclosed that detectives, acting on credible intelligence, apprehended Yusuf Christopher Beskeni in connection with the incident. The suspect is currently in police custody as detectives intensify efforts to track down and arrest other suspects who remain at large. He vowed that no stone would be left unturned in apprehending everyone involved in the torture and eventual killing of Ibrahim Mbaya, stressing that all those found culpable would face the full weight of the law.
