Two men are facing charges after Greater Sudbury Police officers witnessed a drug sale in downtown Sudbury. In a release, police said the Drug Enforcement Unit opened an investigation earlier this summer into suspected drug trafficking in the downtown. Article contentOn July 30, investigators “observed what was believed to be a hand-to-hand drug transaction near Beech Street, during which two individuals exchanged money for illicit drugs,” police said. The older suspect was charged with possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, trafficking in a Schedule I substance and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. Police said their names cannot be released at this time as the information has not yet been sworn through the court process.
