A pattern change arrives for the weekend, bringing warmer temperatures and rain to most regions as a weather system moves across the Tasman and over New Zealand. Auckland saw its coldest temperatures since July 2021 with 1.5°C at the airport and -1.7°C at Whenuapai. But a change is brewing in the Tasman, with warmer and wetter weather expected as we look towards the weekend. The rain band then gradually moves north, with most of the North Island experiencing a wet Sunday. However, it only provides a brief pause, as wetter weather is set to return on Tuesday.
