A pattern change arrives for the weekend, bringing warmer temperatures and rain to most regions as a weather system moves across the Tasman and over New Zealand. Auckland saw its coldest temperatures since July 2021 with 1.5°C at the airport and -1.7°C at Whenuapai. But a change is brewing in the Tasman, with warmer and wetter weather expected as we look towards the weekend. With the wetter weather comes a shift to warmer temperatures; bringing some frost-free nights for the North Island, but the South Island remains a bit cooler and holds onto those morning frosts inland. However, it only provides a brief pause, as wetter weather is set to return on Tuesday.
