Ever growing in number and impact, Israeli restrictions on Palestinian movement have come in various types.
And a third category of restrictions concerns West Bank Palestinians’ ability to travel abroad via the Allenby Bridge border crossing with Jordan.
Movement restrictions have also disrupted family networks, limiting participation in large gatherings, such as weddings and funerals, as extended families are spread throughout the West Bank.
These had emerged five years ago in the northern West Bank, spontaneously and largely uncoordinated between localities.
