(Batesville, IN) – The Indiana Department of Transportation says it’s working to address issues in the asphalt paving work zone on State Road 46 in the Batesville area, particularly near Pearl Street and extending east toward Morris. The agency says paving work began in the impacted area over the weekend with no issues. But INDOT was notified Tuesday afternoon of vehicles driving through the work zone sustaining damage – mainly tires covered in tar – as pavement became detached from the milled surface. Traffic has been moved to an unaffected area of the work zone. Drivers who were impacted by pavement issues in this area are asked to contact INDOT’s Customer Service Center at INDOT4U.com or 1-855-INDOT4U (463-6848).
