This area features 23 miles of coastline, a rainforest and two villages — Teholah and Queets. Nestled among the tall conifer trees is the village of Queets with a population of 150 residents. As a previous denominational church group closed its work there, Adventists were invited to use the tribal church and parsonage. Monte Church, North Pacific Union Native ministries director at the time, signed a 99-year lease agreement with the tribe, $1 for the church and $1 for the parsonage.
