BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. (WNYT) — A Saratoga County jury convicted Michael A. Bertone on all three aggravated family offense counts, according to District Attorney Brett Eby. Prosecutors said Bertone had previously threatened the victim by telephone, leading her to get an order of protection, then knowingly violated that order by going to her home and harassing her. Jurors deliberated for less than three hours before finding Bertone guilty on all three felony counts of aggravated family offense. “This verdict is first and foremost a testament to the extraordinary courage of the victim,” Eby said in a news release. Eby said Bertone is a six-time convicted felon and said his office plans to seek the maximum prison term of 4 to 8 years.
