ADVERTISEMENTThe work looked at the 25-year history of FM Pride as well as the activities that led to it. The first local LGBTQ pride organization, DLC, was founded in the late 1970s and evolved into Prairie Gay Community. After members of the local LGBTQ community lobbied then-Mayor Jon Lindgren, he declared the first “Gay-Lesbian Pride Week” in late June of 1984.
