New Delhi: In the wake of the tragic fire incident in Malviya Nagar, the Delhi government plans to table a Bill to repeal the existing ‘Bed and Breakfast Establishments (Registration and Regulation) Act, 2007’ in the upcoming Monsoon Session of the Delhi Assembly, officials said on Wednesday. Speaker Vijender Gupta said the Delhi Legislative Assembly Secretariat has completed all necessary arrangements for the smooth and orderly conduct of the Session. “This session, comprehensive arrangements have been made to maintain a secure, disciplined and efficiently managed environment within the assembly premises,” Gupta said. As of 2023, more than 2,200 rooms across 432 properties in the national capital have been registered under Delhi government’s Bed and Breakfast (B&B) scheme. Last month, the Delhi Cabinet approved Delhi (Right of Citizen to Time Bound and Ease of Delivery of Services) Bill, 2026, to make timely public service delivery a legal right.
