The much-discussed Hyderabad Industrial Lands Transformation (HILT) Policy evoked poor response from the industries, leaving the state government disappointed. According to official data, only 193 applications had been received from industries by the time last date for submission of applications ended on June 30. Of the paltry number of applications received, 54 applications had already been rejected due to a shortfall in valid documents. However, the managements of various industries were reluctant to relocate industries citing the cost of land outside ORR as the main reason. Many of the companies raised objections on shifting industries without government support in the wake of slowdown in the real estate sector.
