Amaravati: The State government has launched a State-wide intensive campaign titled ‘Rythanna Meekosam – El Nino Effect Mitigation Action Plan’ to minimise crop losses during Kharif 2026 amid prevailing El Nino conditions. The programme will be launched on August 7, with Rythu Seva Kendrams (RSKs) serving as the basic implementation units. The government has constituted RSK-level action committees, strengthening existing RSK teams with APCNF/RySS Community Resource Persons, to undertake planning, field verification, implementation and monitoring of mitigation measures. Dedicated dashboards at the State, district, mandal and RSK levels will track progress, pending cases and Farmer App adoption. collectors will supervise the programme, with the director of agriculture issuing the Standard Operating Procedure, monitoring indicators and reporting timelines.
