Minister for Food and Civil Supplies Nadendla Manohar said the State government is working with a clear timeline and a dedicated mission to deliver justice to AgriGold depositors, announcing that the official process of compensating beneficiaries will begin by September 15. Manohar said AgriGold had also collected deposits under plantation schemes promising returns from red sanders and teak plantations. Reiterating the coalition government’s commitment to resolve the AgriGold issue, Manohar said a dedicated Special Court building for AgriGold cases would be made ready by August 15. Minister Nadendla also said the government had appealed for the return of AgriGold bonds worth nearly Rs 2,000 crore that remain with agents. He said these special cells would accelerate the recovery of bonds and help speed up the compensation process for lakhs of AgriGold depositors.
