Hyderabad: Telangana said goodbye to the decades old Dial 100, 101, 108 for emergency services. These are now integrated under a single number Dial 112, as part of the next generation emergency response support system, providing access to 18 emergency services under one umbrella with the slogan "One Nation, One Emergency Number." The new platform integrates police, fire services, ambulance, women’s safety, child protection, disaster response and other emergency services through the single emergency number 112. According to officials, Dial 112 is an AI-enabled integrated emergency response platform aimed at delivering faster, smarter and more coordinated assistance to citizens across the state. Every day, nearly 14 lakh calls reach the interactive voice response system, around 18,000 emergency calls are answered by call takers and nearly 7,500 incidents are dispatched to field teams.
