$5.1 million federal grant to help 600 young adults leaving prison find jobsINDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A $5.1 million federal grant will help an Indianapolis nonprofit provide job training to more than 600 people leaving prison, leaders announced Wednesday.
The funds provide job training and support for adults being released from prison.
Janette Keesling, founder and president of RecycleForce, said the money will help 18- to 24-year-olds transitioning out of prison.
And on day one, they’re earning money, they’re learning skills and they’re going to have a job.”
The Indiana Department of Workforce Development received a similar grant earlier this month, according to the governor’s office.
