Councilor proposes budget plan to fund Indianapolis roads without new taxINDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A new proposal offers a way to fund Indianapolis road improvements without raising taxes.
City-County Councilor Michael-Paul Hart said the city can meet that requirement without a new tax.
Hart’s plan would dedicate at least 10% of the city’s annual revenue growth to road funding.
The plan uses existing revenue and future budget planning to meet the state requirement.
“As we begin developing the 2027 budget, the city has not fully identified the resources within the budget to meet the state’s required $50 million local match.
