An outspoken Labor backbencher has walked away from a car crash on a motorway avoiding "serious injury". Chifley MP Ed Husic was driving home from his western Sydney electorate office on Tuesday when he was involved in a serious motor accident. Paramedics on the scene reported a truck rear-ended Mr Husic's car while travelling at about 80km/h on the M7 motorway. The Labor MP sustained minor abrasions, fractures and a concussion and was taken to the nearby Westmead Hospital to be assessed.
