Dr. Omenugha made the call during a working visit to the custodial centre, where he also reiterated the commitment of the Anambra State Government to youth development, rehabilitation and the reintegration of reformed individuals into society. The visit was disclosed in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Anambra State Command, CSC Francis Ekezie. Addressing the inmates, Dr. Omenugha identified the quest for quick wealth as one of the major factors pushing many young people into crime and other social vices, warning that such pursuits often result in avoidable consequences and wasted opportunities. The visit later took an emotional turn when one of the inmates presented Dr. Omenugha with a handcrafted bead necklace as a token of appreciation and goodwill. The presentation, which attracted applause from officials and inmates alike, underscored the broader message of hope, redemption and transformation that characterised the visit.
