In the US alone, 9% of the population — that’s nearly 28.8 million Americans — will have an eating disorder in their lifetime, and an estimated 10,200 people die as a direct result of an eating disorder in America each year, which is one death every 52 minutes.
Now, people in recovery have shared the serious long-term impact that anorexia and other eating disorders have left on their bodies in the hope of helping others get the help that they need.
