Warner Bros. Television has announced that an untitled documentary is in the works at HBO Max about the seminal coming-of-age series “Gilmore Girls” which ran from 2000-2007. Bonni Cohen (“In Waves and War”) will direct the project, which marks the first-ever authorised doc about the show, more than 25 years after it premiered. Series creators Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino, star Lauren Graham and various additional key cast and crew are all participating. The documentary will tackle how the series surpassed all expectations to become a cross-generational phenomenon. Netflix revived the series in 2016 with “Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life,” four telemovies that premiered in 2016.
