JAMESTOWN – The annual Niemeyer Cup competition between the Hillcrest Golf team and the Jamestown Country Club team was held on Saturday through Sunday, Aug. 1 and 2, at the Jamestown Country Club and Hillcrest Golf Course. The Jamestown Country Club won the final two head-to-head matches on Sunday to force a tie, retaining the Niemeyer Cup. Hillcrest took an early lead, winning two matches; Jamestown Country Club won one match, and one match ended all square. Jamestown Country Club took the lead after day one with 4 1/2 points to Hillcrest’s 3 1/2 points. The Jamestown Country Club retained the Niemeyer Cup for another year due to tiebreaker rules.
